Awful. Constant cuts to funding, staff leave and are not replaced, constant failings which put our service users in harms way. No management at all. Scrape by every day trying to run a service with caseloads of 90, constantly hounded by managers wanting more and more from us every day. Soul destroying. 90% of the staff have been off on extended sick leave at some point and I can’t wait to get out of this awful organisation.
What would you suggest CGL (Change, Grow, Live) management do to prevent others from leaving?
Listen to your staff, don't please commissioners, don't let your staff to be used by them for jobs which are not theres
Read up on the organisational values and be prepared to give examples of previous work situations.
I have been invited to an interview but I am wondering what sort of competency based question they ask?
It depends on the position you are going for but they will ask questions around confidentiality, questions around scenarios and what would you do, questions around what you have done in the past.
How does someone get hired at Change, grow, live (CGL)? What are the steps along the way?
You apply online through the company website and send your application to a staff email. The interview will consist of two staff members who interview you and ask about 5-6 questions. Then they get you to do a test based on your role, nothing difficult.
Recently they have made all applicants do the VBI questionnaire now. There is no way to prepare for the VBI. The problem with it is you can pass the interview but fail the VBI.
Casual clothing. I've seen people get the job at CGL just showing up with jeans and a nice shirt.
Staff typically work 9-5 with some extra hours in the evening. As a Volunteer I work mornings three days a week and one full day.
