Information intensive data driven industry
Senior Geophysicist (Former Employee) –  Crawley15 March 2016
Day to Day activity included the supervision and review of client data, assessing the current processes being applied to it and forthcoming stages. Working in small teams of roughly 4-6, management varying in their hands-on approaches (some more so than others). Hardest part was to live up to the client expectations, most enjoyable part was to see the end results and supply the client with a product that can be of use to them.
Pros
Subsidised onsite canteen
Cons
Sometimes long hours but not constantly

Seismic
HSE Advisor (Current Employee) –  Offshore Worldwide3 December 2015
A typical at work involves:
Checking and acting upon Hazard Reports and Task Observations.
Writing and Implementing Work Instructions, Risk Assessments, Managements of Change.
Carrying out training, incident and accident reporting.

Due to the environment we work in (Open Ocean on a moving vessel) the hardest part of the job is trying to balance productivity against a safe working practice. There are obvious hazards in this industry but we try to mitigate all as best as possible.
.
Pros
Every day is different and presents a unique challenge.
Cons
extended time from friends and family especially on birthdays and christmas can be tough.

Exciting with lots of opportunity
Scanning Supervisor/Senior Scanning Operator (Current Employee) –  Conwy17 November 2014
Having been sent overseas, I gained the chance to teach my skills in a different country with the obvious language barriers and cultural differences.

A typical day is managing a team of people to meet the SLA's (Targets), which I am proud to say I am 100% to target.

Hardest part of the job: Dealing with equipment breakdowns.

Most enjoyable part: Hitting my targets and knowing a good job has been done/
Pros
Free Fruit, Tea and Coffee, Flexible working hours
Cons
Client targets have to be met, overtime is common

Enjoyable company to start my seismic career. Unfortunately company expansion did not turn out well, the company went bankrupt, and we where all left in the lurch. Enjoyable 3 years, and learnt a lot.
