Senior Geophysicist (Former Employee) – Crawley – 15 March 2016
Day to Day activity included the supervision and review of client data, assessing the current processes being applied to it and forthcoming stages. Working in small teams of roughly 4-6, management varying in their hands-on approaches (some more so than others). Hardest part was to live up to the client expectations, most enjoyable part was to see the end results and supply the client with a product that can be of use to them.
A typical at work involves: Checking and acting upon Hazard Reports and Task Observations. Writing and Implementing Work Instructions, Risk Assessments, Managements of Change. Carrying out training, incident and accident reporting.
Due to the environment we work in (Open Ocean on a moving vessel) the hardest part of the job is trying to balance productivity against a safe working practice. There are obvious hazards in this industry but we try to mitigate all as best as possible. .
Every day is different and presents a unique challenge.
extended time from friends and family especially on birthdays and christmas can be tough.
