Working hours vary from part time positions to full time positions - most clubs are open every day from around 11.00am to 10.30pm.
We work on a split shift basis, i.e. a full day shift could look like 11.00am - 3.30pm then 6.00pm - 10.30pm. Clubs operate on a flexi-rota system with shifts given 3 weeks in advance
Due to the nature of our business and the industry we are in, working remotely isn't an option for us. We pride ourselves on delivering great experiences for those who visit our clubs - to do this we need great staff on site to provide excellent customer service.
What would you suggest Carlton Clubs (Carlton Bingo) management do to prevent others from leaving?
Hire members of staff above the age of 24 unless they show a vast amount of maturity. Young people do not stay as will phone in sick after having a night out and don’t have the proper work ethic for this kind of job as this is not a great “first job”
Do some background research on the company, ie how many clubs do they have/where are they locate?
Be able to talk about your own customer service and cash handling experiences.
Show a willingness to learn and develop, the company spend a lot of money training employees so will look for employees they can invest in.
What advice would you give the CEO of Carlton Clubs (Carlton Bingo) about how to improve it?
Make the bingo more modern. Spend the money to make more. Stop implementing stupid procedures and give the staff more benefits and holiday as nothing isn’t enough in most jobs, never mind one as consuming as this.
Does Carlton Bingo require pre-employment background checks? What kind of background check does Carlton Bingo do and how long does it take to complete?
There are no pre-employment checks other than your references they will check that.
