Telephonist (Former Employee) – Liverpool – 23 August 2019
Worked here for almost a year, I'd put in for everyone's birthdays, leaving gifts even a lady who had gone on mat leave that I had never met, however when I went in for surgery with appendix cancer I didn't get so much as a card or te t to see how I was doing.
Extortionate greedy parasites, No interest in customer service or helping their workforce
Driver (Current Employee) – Knowsley, Merseyside – 22 July 2019
A typical taxi operator, absolute vultures with no interest in customer service and no interest whatsoever in facilitating a decent income for hard working self employed drivers. You will often see them portraying their caring nature at public events but this is a facade and the reality of them is somewhat different.
Do not be fooled by the potential earnings they come up with and the ideology of working your own hours, its a total con. Due to a technicality in licensing legislation Britannia have allowed the flooding of the area with drivers from all over the country such as Wolverhampton and Bolton, these drivers have no knowledge of the areas and as such the level of customer service that Britannia customers normally receive has gone well and truly down the toilet and they couldn't care less...
Britannia like to justify this by saying anyone of any colour or creed is entitled to work in any area, who are they to stop them etc but make no bones about it, this is about money in the form of settle that goes in their pocket, nothing to do with equality or workers rights, so providing you pay your settle to a Britannia office somewhere in the country you can pretty much work anywhere, which doesn't help when there is barely enough work to go round as it is during normal working hours and they have absolutely no clue where they are or where they are going, passengers must be thrilled having to direct these out of area drivers round every corner.
Britannia also employ shady tactics that involve supplying better jobs to favorable drivers, something I find particularly dirtymore... when you take into account that people are just trying to earn a living for their families, better jobs get sent to lucky souls who have been well and truly fooled into taking the "full gold package" of a Britannia settle car, Britannia insurance as well as the normal settle fee, an absolute fortune to cover before you have even paid for your fuel, not much left for yourself, even worse if you use your own car and insurance, then you will be just on the "Peasant Bronze package" and because they aren't getting as much money off you in the way of a settle car or their insurance they teach you a lesson by sending you all the rubbish jobs going to and from the local shops at 3 quid a go.
On a normal full working day you will struggle to make 100 quid, once you have paid your settle, insurance and fuel you will be miles below minimum wage, being a private hire driver in this day and age for Britannia is a short route to poverty unless you work ridiculous anti social hours(70+ a week) just to make minimum wage, this is responsible for driver's trying to commit suicide, marriages breaking up, drivers becoming homeless and Britannia couldn't care less.
When you take into account that Britannia claims to have 600 drivers, even if only 80% of them are actively working at one time, imagine £90 a week x 500!!! Its printing money at will!!! even when you take into account their moderate corporation costs of running various offices, employed staff, vehicles etcless
