Didn't even start
Food and Beverage Assistant (Former Employee) –  Buxton, Derbyshire11 May 2019
Where to Begin!!! Had interview in March was offered job there and then. Filled all paperwork out and management said would update me in next few days.

It's now May with no start date. Every time I tried ring always the same "Will call you back".

Wrote to head office and hotel last week and still no acknowledgement. Good job I'm now employed else i wouldn't of been able pay bills.

Avoid this company!!!!! Unless you got patience of a sin!!

Absolute dive, only people treated with any respect is management, who are all so rubbish at their jobs I wonder how they even got them. Zero hour contracts don't bother wasting your time.

Worst hotel chain past 6 years & proud of it.
Chef (Former Employee) –  Blackpool, Lancashire23 April 2019
Only experienced 8months of cuts from being taken over from a well known hotel chain to (“Grand”?) Hotel by Britannia, Management are so savage, to sack staff for the basic need to replenish fluids (on a hot day) to make someone “leave” because they were given the “option” to help out another hotel or face no hours if they chose not to??? .
Dragging their heels to replace staff when business “picks” up. So the it’s not even a skeleton crew that hold that hotel up now but the management have the audacity to send out an email about the cleanliness asking everyone to pick up the slack for the lack of staff made by this motel chain.
Pros
None whatsoever
Cons
Should be illegal

Awful
Barman and Waiter (Former Employee) –  Market Bosworth, Leicestershire11 April 2019
No respect for there staff. Forcing you work Christmas day every year with never so much as a thank you. Foods awful so you have to deal with complaints from your costumers which they don't train you for. Theyre very old school with there approach to accounting taking a paper and pen approach instead of logging it through a computer this causes a pressuee of barstaff as they have to be very careful with they're hand writing. One mistake is instant dismissal. If you wanna be treated as a human this isn't the job for you

Night Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Manchester26 February 2019
Customers can be a pain as it is a 3 star hotel but generally are fun and make the day worth it. You learn a lot about the hotel industry including the day-to-day running's of a busy hotel. Management could definitely have been more professional and fairer on the women.

A Slave (Former Employee) –  Hull City Centre, East Riding of Yorkshire3 December 2018
Some of the higher positioned staff believe they're in positions of intergalactic hierarchy. Some have the same human respect ethics of those that committed atrocities to human-beings in the dark parts of our history.

The food is mediocre, You get free food if you actually get around to eating it, Certain departments are treat like royalty whilst others are the deck scrubbers

Other than that a certain few people like to look in the mirror are them selves whilst giving out pointless orders to satisfy their ego / penile envy is laughable. .

Not a good place to work
Maintenance (Former Employee) –  Hull29 November 2018
The maintenance job isn't very good at all, you get treated like rubbish , the pay is very low for what you have to do, the royal hotel in hull is the worst the hotel manager isn't very good as he takes orders from is second in command he can't make his own mind up for himself. The pay is only £7.50 an hour and it's not worth it.

Worst job ever
Room Attendant (Former Employee) –  Manchester, Greater Manchester19 November 2018
Don’t work here!!!! It’s the worst job ever...they literally don’t know why they’re doing, don’t provide much only the fact you get paid weekly, mangers hardly support you at all and just don’t care what you do, the times they tell you you’re supposed to finish that’s a lie too if you don’t compelete the room within 20 minutes you don’t get paid for overtime.

Honestly don’t bother I would never work here ever again, even if you need the money desperately.
