I was taken into an office with the interviewer (the store manager) and another employee who took notes. I was asked about my experience, then I was asked competency based questions - describe a time you brought a sense of fun to a team, describe a time you had to research a product, describe a time you had to work under pressure, for example. Then I was given scenarios, eg how would I help a customer looking for a gift for their friend or a customer who was going between two products. After that I was asked to go onto the shop floor, find a product that appealed to me, and identify an area of the store that needs fixed in some way. When I went back to the office, I was asked to tell the interviewer why I liked the product I had picked, and I was asked to recommend any other products. I was then asked what part of the store I'd identified, and what I would do to it. Finally, I was asked to familiarise myself with a packet of flu medication and then asked to "sell" it to the interviewer. All in all it took around half an hour. It can differ though. I did an interview a few weeks before for a different store, and I was given a choice of two questions to answer in the first part, then I was asked to find a product, and that was basically it. It depends on the size of the store and the position you're going for.

You apply online (it takes about 5 minutes). Then within a day you'll get an email asking you to complete an online assessment. It says it'll take 45 minutes, but it can be done in about 20. It's in two parts - the first gives you different scenarios and asks how you would react, and the second gives you two statements and asks you to choose the one that applies to you the most. At the end it gives you some feedback. If you've got an interview, you'll usually hear within a week. You're given 3-4 days and 3-4 time slots per day to choose your interview slot from. The interview usually takes 30 minutes and involves competency based questions, scenarios, and also some time on the shop floor. You'll hear if you've got it or not about a week or so afterwards, depending on how many people they're interviewing.
