There is scope for movement and there is a good working life balance. You are encouraged to learn new skills and to take part in 'Campus' training modules to enhance your skill set

DTCC OPERATIONS ANALYST (Former Employee) –  United Kingdom20 July 2018
One of the best companies to work for. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at BNP Paribas. I felt that I was very well taken care and that they promoted personal development thus I engaged in many training modules. The team leaders that were appointed were brilliant and knowledgeable.

A great place to work and be. Working for an organisation which is growing providing continuous change. Allowing skills and attributes of employees to be used across various departments in projects.

Some nice people but shocking remuneration packages
Accountant (Former Employee) –  Dundee City29 May 2018
The job can be stressful at various times during the year when accounts are due. There is a very different culture now where new KPIs are added all the time and are often virtually impossible to meet on a consistent basis. This can be very demotivating at the best of time.

The remuneration package is very poor. It appears that no benchmarking is performed by a hostile HR department. The HR team would rather lose staff than pay them the industry standard, and will ultimately pay a new staff member the industry standard anyway. When you commence employment as a trainee accountant, you start on a low wage in the region of £22k per annum. This is not updated according to the examinations passed through the year. Even once qualified this is not increased past £3k.

Very disappointing and demoralised by the end and felt that I ultimately had to leave as a result.
Pros
Free parking
Cons
Very low wages when advancing internally, poor bonus packages, no pay structure in place

Pricing Analyst (Current Employee) –  London23 April 2018
Used to be a fun place to work in, nowadays it feels that you are under pressure from every side, and as a consequence quality of analysis is lesser.

Cost cutting has reduced the amount of social event at a minimum, a couple of years back there would be some sort of social event or celebration drinks every now and then, this has totally disappeared.

On the upside people is very friendly and approachable, and there is an environment of collaboration in the workplace.

United Kingdom Corporate Actions Account Manager (Current Employee) –  Distrito de Lisboa9 April 2018
BNP Paribas is a well balanced fun workplace. Depending on the season you may encounter heavy workloads. Moreover, it is fast paced and rarily dull, however the staff is underpaid and at times underappreciated.
Pros
Lunch, well balanced work hours
Cons
Underpaid, hard work unpreciated, poor training program

Management go behind your back. Not friendly environment. Pay is bad. I didn’t get paid for one week because there was “something wrong with the system”. That’s not good when people have bills to pay for weekly.
Pros
The pay
Cons
Environment is dull.

I worked with some very impressive people during my time at BNP Paribas. They offered a great benefits package in the UK, such as healthcare, dental, discount gym membership, life insurance, subsidised canteen, etc.

Equity Capital Markets Intern (Former Employee) –  London27 February 2018
Very boutique-like atmosphere. Very strong desire to hire VP and higher level employees from BB banks, at the same time, Analyst to Associate level employees are not usually employed from own internship programs and are hired from second tier small banks, making hiring politics very inconsistent .

Support Analyst (Former Employee) –  London, Greater London15 February 2018
This role was a rolling contract one which gave me the opportunity to work with a high calibre and friendly Desktop Support team. The hours during a typical day went by swiftly. The technology was pretty much the usual standard. The best part during my time there was the pace and the variety involved in the role. The hardest part was the end of the role (the contract).
Pros
Fun and friendly colleagues
Cons
short term roles/contract
