Black and Lizars is a great place to work. Helpful management, and support from higher management, when required. Like many places there are cons but the benefits out way the cons. There is progression if you are willing to wait for it. It being such a small company it can take a while for you to move up the chain. However Black and Lizars do provide good training, ie putting people through clinical assistant courses or the DO course. The biggest con about working here is probably the benefits. You very rarely achieve bonus as it is worked on as a company target and not a store by store basis. They have also recently restructured the staff discount and you are now looking to pay a lot more for your specs. You where normally about £30 after discount but are now look at about £150.
A brilliant perk is that you are taken away every January, for the annual conference and awards ceremony.
