Lovely hotel, unfortunately management was no good and teams were always understaffed. Staff were always overlooked and overworked. Lovely place to stay but not to work.

Chef
Chef de Partie (Current Employee) –  Newmarket, Suffolk12 December 2016
One of the best places I've worked as a chef, very good team and management, also lots of chance to play with ideas and menus! Work life balance. It's the type of place, if you work hard when busy, you get noticed and rewarded in the long run!
Pros
Staff food, employee of the month, free gym, passionate team, flexible rota

Fun workplace
Waitress and Bar Staff (Current Employee) –  Newmarket30 May 2016
Bedford Lodge was very good fun to work at, all co workers and management were charming and friendly.
Most enjoyable part of the job was when you feel your service has really benefited someones stay at the hotel and made a difference. Although at times it could be very hard work and disheartening on a busy night when its obvious a customer isn't as satisfied as they should have been.
I have learnt a lot about how to deal with different clientele of customers, how to deal with all sorts of different social situations and how to deliver a four red start service in a luxury hotel.
Pros
Gym and pool, two free meals a day.
Cons
long hours

Spa Manager (Current Employee) –  Newmarket6 July 2014
It was a fantastic challenge to open the spa and set everything up from scratch but a great achievement and one I am very proud of.
The past year since opening I have focused on developing the business and the team.

The most enjoyable part of my job is guest satisfaction, customer service and high standards are so important to me and hearing great feedback from guests is wonderful.
Pros
Working in a beautiful spa
