Productive
N/A (Current Employee) –  UK9 January 2019
I work at Baxter

Pros

You get to work at some interesting job sites and introduced to the careers of geology, environmental consulting and ground water. You'll get to make some great contacts for the next step in your career.

Cons

When I was there years ago the company was completely mismanaging employee resources. 16 hr days were fairly common. Working 6 days a week 16 hr days was also fairly common (this includes drive time). If you want or have a family, this position is not conducive to that. We'd often get assigned jobs even in incredibly bad weather. The management would wait until all your extremities were numb in pouring rain before … Show More

Advice to Management

Hopefully by now you've gotten your employee resource scheduling under control. Focus on employee retention.

Bad management
Technician (Former Employee) –  Elstree, Hertfordshire2 January 2019
Incompetent management, somewhat perverted old man managing the Production team. As an agent - you will be observed like a hawk, even outside of work - the way one conducts oneself, if they see and don't like it - you will be gone.

If you are not the warehouse managers friend do not expect to last very long!!

Wait months for assessments on MHE.

It is a very cliquey place to work. Everyone likes to talk.

The rotation of workers is crazy. They should have a revolving door!!
Pros

Sous Chef (Current Employee) –  London19 November 2018
great to work Employees are one of the most important aspects in an organization. They are people who run the organization and get the things done for the organization in order to achieve the company’s purposes and objectives. Company consists of teamwork which refers to a group of people with the complementary and difference skills and abilities who committed to a common mission and performance goals. They work in a company for some reasons and based on some motivations.

Motivation theories explain that different people will have different type of motivation regarding to the great diversity and behavior complexity in company nowadays. Many suggestions believe that money is one of the motivations for the workers. However, for the new generation today, money is not the only things that influence them to stay working with an organization. People are trying to seek another advantage from their job and they tend to find inner satisfactions beside the financial satisfactions.

Challenging, No rewards for hard work, performance and loyalty
Middle Manager (Former Employee) –  Thetford, Norfolk10 September 2018
Culture change in the last 5 years has seen a high turnover of inexperienced staff that work there to make their CV impressive, and gain qualifications.

Once was a community based factory where the loyalty was there and the commitment to do the best possible job.
They are employing the wrong people with the wrong backgrounds, and they do not retain the educated, hard working people that have worked there for many years. Many hard working knowledgeable people have left in the past few years.

Many of the new Managers have not proved their abilities before gaining promotion and have a don't care attitude. Promotion based on personality and favouritism rather than ability to get the job done well has been prevalent, leaving a hand full of experienced managers carrying the can.

You live for work and the company is expected to come above all else. Advancement is by friendships only and when positions are advertised internally a selection has already been made.

Lead Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) –  Elstree26 June 2018
Initially a great place to work but this soon changed. Wanted so much work completed, workload was not achievable and the pressure from management was relentless. I started as a maintenance technician but ended up a pen pusher managing contractors. Concerns weren't listened to and mistakes happened. They forced me out and did this in a really nasty way.
Work colleagues were great and supportive and managers outside of my department were fantastic, but they failed to deal with my manager. My predessor left because of him.
They expected me to be on call all the time for no extra money.
Pros
Work collegues
Cons
Being on call for no extra money.
