My immediate manager was excellent. His manager however was very micro managing. I was no allowed flexitime despite the rest of the team having it and WFH seemed to be selective too. Hourly rate was very low for such an employer too.

From my work experience at BAE systems, I was able to further develop my numeracy and literacy skills by gathering information and data (i.e. selecting and analysing appropriate information and data, recording data in an appropriate format). SNR Purchasing Engineer (Former Employee) – Preston, ENG – 18 April 2014
Worked at BAE SYSTEMS FOR 33 YRS, there was lots of work everyday and you always learned something new about the job that would help you look at each job carefully before making a decision on the way forward, the Management backed you all the way and were fully supportive of the way you handled the suppliers, all your co-workers helped make the job easy due to their knowledge of their equipment. The hardest part of the job was to travel abroad late at night and have to attend meetings early morning and be able to make your points to a supplier even if you were tired out. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to meet people and see you plans put into practice and seeing them work then your management would praise you for this which made the job worth while.
being taken for lunch and evening meals and being liked by suppliers
sometimes you worked long hours but it was worth it.
Hard working members of staff driven to achieve the best for the company all customers. Customer focus environment with ambition to grow and an individual consistently implemented.
Most enjoyable part of being an estimator is winning the bid that you worked so hard constructing. Hardest part can be the long hours when working on a large estimate, but this is part of the role, and something everyone understands.
BAE Systems have provided me with a great career to date and i would highly recommend the company.
Manufacturing Engineer (Former Employee) – Preston – 27 March 2013
As a Manufacturing Engineer, it was an enjoyable experience working with others as part of a team dealing with customers such as Production and Logistics Management and staff. The main thing I learned in this role was realising the pressures that production where under to deliver and to help them to deliver those jobs.
