18 questions about working at Autism Plus
Depressed. Absolutely no support from senior management and no opportunity to effect change in regards to the service users you spend most of your week with. Problem behaviours from service users remain unacknowledged and therefor unchanged, giving them no room to improve their lives. Inappropriately placed service users. Staff used as fodder. The company know they can just hire the next uneducated mug off the street if any staff express dissatisfaction with any element. Do what you’re told and shut up basically. I’ve known my senior manager (who makes very important decisions regarding service users day to day lives) get people under her care mixed up because they don’t really know anything about the people under their charge.
Answered 1 December 2020I am proud to work for this charity who are helping to improve the lives of those with additional needs.
Answered by Autism Plus8 March 2019Awful. Anybody struggling with difficult service users is made to feel as if it is their fault and they aren’t good enough for the role. Any suggestions towards improving an individuals care going forward are swiftly acknowledged then dismissed and the same ineffective care continues. The people who know the service users most have no say what so ever in how they are cared for. Senior management view care staff with disdain and unit team Team Leaders have no real power even though they try their utmost to improve the services provided. Senior management are almost omniscient in their lack of attendance to the units they actually run, despite making incredibly important decisions about the vulnerable adults under their care, whom they know nothing about. The mere fact that most people leave this company within n the first 2 months speaks more than I can ever say with words.

Answered 26 August 2020What is Autism Plus sick leave policy? How many sick days do you get per year?
Asked 17 February 2019Don’t get any sick pay. It’s just SSP. When you are poorly. You are told. By the team leaders on/off call. That you will have to do your shift. As they can not get cover. Even though. The team leaders are supposed to cover any sickness/ absences.
