Section Leader/ Duty Manager (Current Employee) –  Oldham10 May 2018
up until the last few CEOs the job was great well looked after felt like you belong.
in the last 3 years...
viewed as disposable.
most benefits removed.
no matter how much you do its never enough.
continuously cut hours so have to hope your staff that's left will do extra hours and push them to breaking point.
Security is being removed so expect even more threatening customers and thieves.

10% discount

Produce Department Section Leader (Current Employee) –  Barrow-In-Furness2 March 2018
It is a strict work environment where you aren't really able to socialise to colleagues or even familiar customers. The majority of the managers are lazy but some are very hard working and committed to the job.

10% discount

Section Leader (Former Employee) –  donnington wood25 July 2017
ASDA is a brilliant company to work for, retail requires hard work and determination, the home/work balance isn't always achievable in the management team, but a good job is highly rewarded. ASDA's treats everyone fairly and equally, and is a fun and forever changing environment. The pay for management could be better.
Pros
Good breaks, treated fairly, always developing staff
Cons
Pay, weekend working

Section leader home shopping, picking orders for delivery
Section leader (Current Employee) –  Southampton, Hampshire18 March 2017
Asda is a large super market chain owned by American company Walmart. Unfortunately at the moment the management team are unmotivated and in chaos they are going through a company restructure as things are not improving, I have been working at my current store for 12 years and keep being praised for my work ethic but being passed over for promotion. I would like to progress to a store manager as I feel I have the skill and the passion to do well.
Pros
10% discount and bonuses job security
Cons
Not enough staff, some staff lazy and management will an I don't care attitude

Good place to work as a colleague
Manger, colleague, section leader (Former Employee) –  Aberdeen stores17 March 2017
The compain is good to work for lots of overtime availability. Manger friendly and job is very secure as a colleague. It has a good structure for advanced and has several programs that this can be done. The only down side is you have to prove you can do the job before you actual get the promotion and the hours can be long as a manger if your looking for advancement.
Pros
10% discount on shopping
Cons
Long hours if you are a manger and you need to work at the weekend
