Need to work notice if you want the transfer, but if they want to transfer you thats different. You will be told on the friday you start elsewhere on the monday

Yes, if your management have have agreed the transfer your notice period will likely be until they find someone else to fill your position.

I was transfered away to help and then ended up staying there. After two years of travelling an hour to work and back from work I then asked for transfer closer to home which they werent happy about but i felt like i needed to be closer to home as i wasnt perfoming to my best ability as i was traveling and i was tired.
