It was fun to work for at first and got me a reason to get out of bed early but it was poorly managed and was sometimes demotivating. The people were regularly not very nice towards you.

Long hours for not much money
It was a reasonably easy going job, not much time was required. Papers would be delivered on Thursdays and would have to be delivered by Friday. I had to do about 150 papers which wasn't to bad as i was given a bag to deliver them.
• Argus Media is an international company where I was in charge of chasing debtors for the Singapore and Japan ledgers which contains 300+ clients. • Chasing Conference debtors along with European customers. • Chasing legacy debtors for new subsidiaries that were acquired. • Work with various sales people to chase the more difficult debts. • Monitor and manage accounts. • Monitoring payments on the bank-line system. • Reconciling accounts and doing journals to clear balances. • Sending invoices and statements to customers via email, post and courier • Minimise debt arrears and maximise income recovery • Respond to correspondence from customers. • Recording all communication with customers via notes on the Netsuite system. • Report outstanding debtor issues via weekly meetings with my line manager
Argus provides a very good salary for relatively little work and it can feel like a good deal especially if you're just starting out after leaving uni. But there is a lot wrong with how it goes about treating staff and doing its work. You can end up feeling very disillusioned very quickly. Many people have been at the company for donkeys years, waiting for it to be sold so that their share options are worth a small fortune. But it hasn't happened yet and you can see the frustration writ large. Favouritism and silly rules are rife, and if you have any kind of problem, they will not care. There are many stories of people leaving in disgust.
