No to both, and there can be a considerable amount of travelling involved. I was sent on one placement which involved a round trip of over eighty miles, and they wanted me to do it on an ongoing basis. It's just not sustainable on this sort of money.

There is none that I know of, but there are rewards when you have worked for them for a year

Fill in an application form and have a short interview. If a friend has recommended you but you haven't worked in care before, they won't receive the vouchers promised on the recommend a friend scheme. Vouchers are only given when experienced carers are recommended.
