So iv worked for amazon 2 weeks. We are on a new site and i am proud to tell people i work for amazon. I heard the bad stories and still thought sod it. In my 2 weeks i have met some awesome people who just want to push to do better constantly. The company keep the building clean and tidy. They are great at trying to help stop the spread of the current virus and the pay is reasonable. Its a tough environment. Long days on your feet can really punish you, but a soft pair of shoes and willingness to just get on with the job at hand and you will enjoy it. Excited to see how my career goes in the future and hopefully will be woth amazon for a long time =)

They told us at 7.30pm that as from now the shift would finish at 12am, not the 11.30pm we were told and not buys about it, must stay.. I was incredibly and visibly very Ill but if you don't have 100% attendance in a week, your pay for the days you work drop to £9.50 p/hr. I asked to go at 11.30pm considering my state, and was ignored. Just a number there.

Very, very long, very unnecessary process so lengthy. I likened it to buying a house. Spanned over three months.
Had to take two assessment tests on line. Maths, accounts, profit and loss type.

I was interviewed and questioned six times ( twice by the same individual on different dates) asking the same competency and result oriented questions as if anything had changed from the last questioning. Two telephone interviews which were clear and then 4 video conferencing calls of about 45- 50 mines each. First two had faulty videos and could not connect properly the last two had voice issues and could hear nothing.

I have worked for 32 plus years as a ' self employed ' Taxi driver, I submitted my accounts anually, with all expences clearly shown. Expenses such as, vehicle Lease Hire, or Lease purchase, fuel , servicing, tyres, valeting, Taxi meters and communication devices, annual inspections, were all tax deductable expenses. Allways retain receipts, for all business expences, and find an accountant to help you to prepare your tax return. After a couple of years, you should find that the annual tax return will become an easy task. Good luck.
