Enjoyed the role of Health & Safety and ensuring staff safety.

Firstly, there was no typical day as you would to to work then suddenly there has been an accident at work which required the completion of necessary paperwork and investigations. Once everthing settled down there would be assessment reviews possible management meeting depending on the day followed by staff induction training.
The management were fully supportive of H&S however, as part of the H&S team other department heads just wanted to step back and have it all sorted. I explained that management had to be seen to be involved and H&S because this was a good sign to staff and they were also responsible for the safety of their team.
The hardest part of the job was ensuring buy in by managers as they thought this should be handled by H&S only because it was our job.
The most enjoyable was ensuring staff came to work and the work environment was safe and they went home in the same condition as the started the day, i.e. 10 fingers and 10 toes.

Long traveling to and from work e.g. 100 round trip
