Lovely people, frustrating environment
This is a good place to work, with friendly, supportive colleagues. However, management fail to make best use of the people they have around them, and continually recruit new temporary staff to provide specific skills which, if they took a moment to look, already exist within the team. This leads to lack of opportunities for existing staff to use their skills and experience, and to further develop in their (medium-term but temporary) role. It seems that if you are recruited to a certain band, then you are deemed to only ever be capable of performing at this level, and are constantly overlooked when opportunities arise, as these are advertised via agency to external candidates, and the first you know about the opportunity is when a new colleague starts.
Good work/life balance. Good (semi-rural) location.
Frustrating if you want to progress, Very poor salary.
