Nice people
Varied work day which covered more than being the Directors PA.

Learned about the car parking process and booking accommodation for staff.

Management is varied from hard nosed to too soft and you felt that you could not trust or confide in them.

Culture within the team was one of being collaborative but within the wider team treated as the "goofer" for everything.

Hardest part of the role was learning on the job whilst trying to juggle all the areas and keeping everything running.

Most enjoyable part were the people, they were kind and helpful but everyone is stressed because they are having to do 2/3 peoples jobs.
Cons
Have to pay to park and you have to provide your own tea, coffee etc

Lovely people, frustrating environment
This is a good place to work, with friendly, supportive colleagues. However, management fail to make best use of the people they have around them, and continually recruit new temporary staff to provide specific skills which, if they took a moment to look, already exist within the team. This leads to lack of opportunities for existing staff to use their skills and experience, and to further develop in their (medium-term but temporary) role. It seems that if you are recruited to a certain band, then you are deemed to only ever be capable of performing at this level, and are constantly overlooked when opportunities arise, as these are advertised via agency to external candidates, and the first you know about the opportunity is when a new colleague starts.
Pros
Good work/life balance. Good (semi-rural) location.
Cons
Frustrating if you want to progress, Very poor salary.

Great friendly atmosphere
I have worked at the trust for almost 3 years now and can honestly say that I never worked anywhere better. I have worked in two other local hospitals previous to this one so I have something to compare to. The staff are very friendly and encouraging and it has a homely feel. I have been given opportunities to further my career within my department and funding for training is always available. Management are fair and approachable. Employee Health and Wellbeing are always on hand to help with any problems you may have with work/home life.

Both the university and the hospital were very busy, but were a very satisfying career
Very busy discharging patients from hospital with the correct medication they need to have at home.

I managed the pre registration pharmacy students and signed off their fitness to practice as a newly qualified pharmacist.

Seeing students move from being a 1st year student to a 5th year ready to be registered with the GPHC is a very satisfying achievement

The workplace culture was committed to giving care to all patients and relatives

The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing patients who had been gravely ill recover and go home
Cons
Long hours

Now that is a question
Job security is non existent,
You work you butt off for no thank you, from management who are constantly on your back pilling on the pressure.

It is more like a bank then an care environment.

Family environment
Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is very much a family orientated establishment. There is a high proportion of staff who were born in the hospital and still live locally, this encourages a close knit and friendly place to work. The Trust prides itself on supporting the local comminity, whilst at the same time being at the cutting edge with regards to trialing and implementing new initiatives that save both time, money and most importantly improve the patient experience.
Pros
Good camaraderie amongst the staff.
Cons
Difficult to advance within the Trust.

Bullying is rife unfortunately
and management have lost control of it. Not a very nice place to work whether a new starter or an established employee who gets on the wrong side of the bullies.
Pros
Accommodation on site
Cons
Bullying.

fun work place
a day in the sewing room is about checking stock to see when the next order is sent. check the list of fittings for new uniforms and when finished contact the person to say they can come and collect. repair bedding, nightwear, pillowcases and anything that comes through before it's sent to the wards.
Pros
friendly and helpful.
Cons
heavy work.

Productive and fastpaced
I enjoyed my time here. very dedicated staff that you never realise what goes on behind the scenes so to speak. The amount of paperwork and dedication you need for the job is indescribable but its worth every minute. Couldn't have wished for a better team to work with.

Bullies

Office Colleagues held everything together and went to each other with problems rather than management as was a case of put up and shut up.

Time management not enough hours in the day.

Speaking to patients and making them happy.

Good place to work
Clinical work is not overwhelming. Rural setting and good social and educational links for family. Ethical work culture but can sometimes be a bit pushy. Study budget has diminished considerably. Fair opportunity to teach medical students and junior doctors.
Pros
job security
Cons
less hands on the deck
