Managers don’t communicate well with the staff and staff don’t feel able to raise any concerns because they will not be dealt with. As with any other care home lots of agency workers and no consistency in staffing levels.

This company has been reported to cqc for financial concerns, they could only offer the previous years account! Why!
The staff never get paid local businesses have not been paid for months, decorators will come in and disappear as they are missing months of pay, self founders pay £1300 plus a month and get slop, residents never went out before Covid higher management don’t give a dam when safeguarding raid concerns, staff stressed and they reduce staff to an unsafe level, cqc need to inspect services

I love my job as a senior carer but since new management took over I feel like I’ve been bullied and pushed out and treated badly, from my unit that I worked on for 4 1/2 years. I was told I was moving to another unit as my work had apparently gone STALE on my unit..(whatever that means) I got on great wit most of the staff. It was always under staffed and it was the same members of staff that did everything. Also as a senior carer I felt I didn’t get enough chances to prove myself as other senior members and other staff would sit in the office all day and let everybody else do the work. I felt I had no support from management on my unit as there were favourites and also a click..

Worked at the company for a few months. It was an unpleasant experience. Management looked down on carers, there is a lot of falsification of documents. There is so much paperwork so signatures are forged and there is so much work to do as a carer quality care is not given to the residents. Where I worked the staff were most unwelcoming. No where is perfect but Roseacre was dreadful. I hated going to work. Online training was okay and pay average.

Working nightshift I found all staff...from the nurses , care assistants & domestics all to be very friendly & helpful. I would hope that if I was ever in a position of needing a job that I could go back to working there.

The company is terrible, never have worked for a company who does not value the work and commitment of the staff who are working directly with the residents, upper management appalling they are not seen to be helping the homes during this awful time, all sitting at home while we are on the front line caring for our residents and putting our own lives at risk, thought we wo
Pros
Care and home staff really care for the residents great care
Cons
The company is shocking! Not paying staff correctly, taking weeks to rectify, just google advinia

The worse experience of my life working for this company. Residents are not cared for and staff prioritise sneaking out for smoke breaks than giving basic care to residents. Residents look unkept and management dont care. All staff call each other constantly. I feel sorry for the residents

Some great carers what actually care for the service users, couple of bad apples in the pack which you will get everywhere. Management are not approachable at all, no support or training given you are just expected to do your job and if you do something wrong trust me they are on your back. Manager is not pro active- if you report something nothing gets done about it, the more you speak up they don’t like it and will find the smallest thing to get you out of their.
No confidentiality across site, if your called in the office for a meeting everyone will get to know within a short time

Been working here for 18/19 months now. The place gets worse every shift. Never any staff, always a lot of agency carers and nurses. Home manager talks to staff like something she’s stepped in. Expected to work 4 12 hour night shifts in a row and work every weekend. Don’t care if you have kids, the manager thinks they can look after themselves!! If you work here, be prepared to have no social life and never get to see your kids. Get told lie after lie. Never get paid what you’re entitled to and get told to wait for next months wages. Don’t get paid for a break, but staff who were here when it was bupa do. Some people are living on the breadline but they wouldn’t know. I’m sure the people sorting wages out get paid correctly. Staff all talk about each other, day and night staff do not get on. Residents are treated appallingly. Left in dirty pads 12+ hours, and they aren’t turned according to their care plan. They live on a diet of chips and potatoes. No snacks available throughout the day. Occasionally there will be crisps, but most residents can’t eat these, so staff take advantage and eat them. Staff also eat the food that is for the residents at dinner and tea time. Smaller portions are purposely put out so the greedy staff can have free food. Staff smoke outside resident’s room’s when they don’t want to wait for their break. No one on one time is spent with residents, they sit in front of a tv or radio all day. Some lash out because they have been sitting in a chair or in their own mess since 6 in the morning, and the nurses just give them medication to make them sleep! - more...

Management is a joke,if you’re face fits you’re ok,otherwise your treated very poorly.Clique culture, very stressful environment as you get more and more jobs put on you,so much so that you regularly miss breaks to make up time.Wages being short on a regular basis, bare minimum of staff and high turnover of agency staff who don’t know the residents likes and dislikes.Revolving doors at the front of house as staff leave and new starts come in.The hardest part of the job was not looking after the lovely residents which l loved but, working along side senior staff that were difficult to deal with and hid in the office all day.The worst company l have ever worked for.

The job is rewarding but you can get some funny characters to work with. You need to be faced place. And just get on with the work you'll be fine

If you not fast pace you can go with your breaks.

It hard job. Stressful at times but good place to work

I feel unappreciated. They throw more & more jobs at you that don't feel right for you to be doing. The moment you question this you just get told "It's your job" . The requirements of your job are endless, demanding, degrading and stressful with no support from the unprofessional management who look down their noses at you. All this for minimum wage, no sickness pay & unpaid breaks

I have been with Advinia for just short of a year now and words cant describe how happy i am working for the home. The support i have received throughout my job is amazing. When i first started there wasn't a home manager and there was no structure, then we got a manager that came into the building and has done a marvellous job at turning it around. We all work as a team and support one another when we need to. Our CQC report has done a massive turn around. The home is very homely and the staff i work with do a fantastic job. The staff are recognised collectively and the support from the home manager and senior team coudn't be any better. I highly recommend working for the company.

As a former employee, I'm glad I gave in and found work elsewhere. Wages were OK, but no overtime incentive and breaks were unpaid . Management showed lack of people skills at times. Carers and nurses were run off their feet most of the time. Great team of carers but always criticised by management.
Pros
Plenty of training
Cons
No paid breaks, no overtime incentive
