Enjoyable
I enjoyed working for the company over the years I have been there. Staff are friendly and the people are good to get along with. You learn a lot and meet friends for life.

Job Culture
Limited oppertunities, and fake culture
Although a number of years ago, pay was terrible, and gave you very little spare cash after rent, utilities, and all costs of living. The culture created cliques with a lot of favouritism. If you were not one of the small number in these cliques then promotion was impossible. Further bullying of staff who were on the outside of these cliques was common place. If you start at admiral give it no more than six months. If you're in a manager's clique with in this time your future is good. However if you're not, then you will be stuck in the same position with no chance of progessing.

Admiral likes to have absolute control of its staff, creating a fake front of fun, and friendliness. If this does not work resorting to intimidation and bullying. This results in staff often feeling like they have to give a lot more then they get back, being taken advantage of. While the manager's favourites seem to be permitted to get away with doing very little, creating tension in the office.

Great culture, terrible pay
I recently left admiral to take up the same job in another company for a 58% pay rise! The shares are double counted as a benefit and an excuse for massively underpaying employees.
Pros
Good people, good work culture
Cons
Pay

Fun place to work sometimes
Some days you have good days and some days are terrible, no matter how hard you work the whole job is scripted, they send you hard calls where customers are bound to cancel such as if they sold their vehicle, and it still affects your incentive, not fair and don’t pay enough
Pros
Parties, activities
Cons
Long hours, stressful

Great company
Some days can be repetitive but the team moral helps you get through the day. Monthly competitions can help you have a friendly banter with other team members.

Great company
Loads of room for advancement if you show willing. Salary not the best at the start but if you stick at it the shares and bonus scheme create a decent package.

Overworked
First few weeks you are treated excellently but soon after you are pretty much forgotten about. A lot of favourites amongst the management team and employees. Lots of weekend work and late nights. Lots of pressure and lack of personal skills from certain managers.
Pros
Incentive and bonuses
Cons
Weekend shifts

Poor
The call centre pay is poor
The commission is ok

The business is changing in a big way to be money focused and work focused

Happy to work for my money but the benefits seem to be being taken away slowly. The degree of difficulty of the job is increasing and fast and the pay isnt reflecting the difficulty.

They would rather not hang on to existing trained and good staff members and just retrain new ones.

There isnt much progression through the call centre roles and you have to be in with the right people, you have to be a part of the click to really progress however there are plenty of people who work hard for their positions and have earned where they're meant to be but it isnt the case in all cases.
Pros
What youre able to do in break times
Cons
Escalation in difficulty in the job role, company doesnt value the employees that are easily replacable, Job stress is high, And the overtime is no longer worth doing

Not what you think
Admiral boast about shares etc , but they have all been cut. Overtime is now been cut also , so it’s not what’s advertised. Before you can cash any shares you need to work there 3 years . The shares you receive also depends on how well Admiral does as a company

Not good place to work
Stressful job and people who work there can be unkind. Management pretend that they care when they do not. Care more about how well they look like their doing to how their employees actually feel.

No good place to work
They not treat you as a human. They think you are robot and you can do day and night non stop. Your job not only is about your occupation and you should be professional cleaner as you have to every your shift deep cleaning shop including cleaning bins with bleach which is horrible.

Relaxed & fun if your face fits.
Admiral can be a great company if your face fits. However, sometimes promotions and duties can sometimes be given to people who are friendlier with the people that matter.

Agency work is harder and more challenging, but the possibility to see your strength and work on your weakness!!!

Avoid for your mental health
When you first start they treat you well and they care. This changes very quickly you are suddenly just another number and they don’t care about your mental health! Favouritism and nepotism is rife and unless you are close with a manager or willing to sell your soul you won’t get a promotion no matter if you have the skills. Management use intimidation tactics to ensure things go their way and use disciplinary action as a threat without following through leaving you stressed about what will happen any time you are at work.

Pay is fine and benefits are great but if you want to stay sane don’t work here!
