Know relevant legislation and how to safeguard children. Prepare for scenario questions such as what would you do if you found another member of staff ..... what is the risk posed by this and how would you deal with it?
Prepare examples of how you meet the main elements of the post. Relax - mine was a friendly interview although I did find having only two minutes to answer each question was challenging at times.

The young people are the best part and it was satisfying seeing them grow and develop new skills or learning new things. I miss them very much but I do not miss the work atmosphere which at times felt hostile and intimidating, particularly when certain senior staff were on shift. You often felt like you were not good enough and this takes a toll on your self-confidence.
