Great company, poor work life balance
Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Preston21 January 2019
Great company to work for with lots of benefits. Many interesting training provided which is great for personal development. However, working in the hotel industry means, you have to work bank holidays (at least its double pay), and the shifts are vary. Also a plus, once your hotel achieved their targets for the year, you can get up to one month's salary bonus on the top of your monthly salary.
Pros
Free food during shift, free nights in UK hotels, discounts
Cons
Work - life balance

If your desperate for a job and like toadying to people come work here,
if you love gossiping and telling stories to mangers this is the place for you.
warning you have to be a yes person and be quite happy doing all the work while senior mangers sit in the bar area drinking coffee
Pros

ambiente di lavoro funzionale
Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Hampshire8 October 2018
Pros
orari flessibili
Cons
nessuna pausa

Not a great place to work
HOUSEKEEPING ATTENDANT (Former Employee) –  Birmingham, West Midlands19 September 2018
I worked for Ibis Styles at the NEC a typical day included being over worked and underpaid. Management was poor and was not interested in the staff and came across as patronising - staff run riot and argued with one another with little done about it - the hardest part about it was having to drag all the linen across three corridors because the hotel were unable to supply the correct equipment to carry out this job. It was very enjoyable to finish work and be free for the rest of the day.
Pros
free lunch( sometimes not edible)
Cons
Long hours, poor management, poor equipment

High turnover - poor work/life balance
Events Assistant (Former Employee) –  Cardiff, Cardiff2 January 2019
I worked for Mercure Holland House Cardiff - I left after 6 months due to the poor work culture, the constant change in staff and management - plus the over arching negative attitude of management.

No training or guidance - but the world is expected of you.

Terrible working conditions
Receptionist (Current Employee) –  Glasgow2 September 2018
One of the worst jobs I had. Terrible pay since we are seriousy understaff and have to do the work of 2-3 people at the same time with no breaks, the extra hours are supposed to count towards holiday but the timesheets are utterly ignored. Pretty much no training except tips from colleagues. Nonsensical working shifts. Meals on duty only a few days a month. Unsafe environment which exposes us staff to bullying and harrassment from guests. Would take years to advance to a promotion but then all superiors are doing the same job as us lower staff. Benefits are standard of the industry so nothing special.
Pros
Colleagues are nice but everyone seems to hate being there
Cons
Unsafe, no meals, no work life balance, management

The thing i admired most about Accor Hotels is the policy of developing future leaders through training and development. While working with AccorHotels, you get the opportunity to have cross training in different departments

taking and passing on messages to guests.
dealing with special requests from guests. (like booking theatre tickets or storing valuable items)

Free meal
Maintenance (Former Employee) –  Devon22 November 2018
I see everyone going on about free meals. Apparently we actually subsedise the "free" meals from our wage. This is not good as when told about the job it's advertised as free. This as I am told is not the case. Poor quality food and certainly not free.
Pros
Very few

Hotel Storeroom Assistant (Former Employee) –  London25 September 2018
Bad work place with poor management and people that do not treat you right an take advantage of their position. You can not express your opinion and it does not even matter (Housekeeping department). They treat you like slaves.
