They are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support their Nuclear Services team in Thatcham working on the design of new facilities and modifications to existing operational plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out site surveys of electrical services and equipment and produce survey reports.
Carry out calculations and design on lighting and power systems to current standards including BS7671 and client technical standards.
Production of the following documents and drawings, basis of design, detailed electrical drawings, technical specifications, plant item schedules, LV distribution & switchgear, cabling design, earthing systems, lightning protection, fire detection and alarm systems, design of containment for specialist suppliers and EMC design.
Produce Technical reports.
Communicate effectively within the multidiscipline design team in addition to Client and Supply Chain representatives.
Ensure all technical documents and data are prepared and structured in accordance with relevant design codes and standards.
Ensure the design meets the operational/ design requirements, and any Safety Functional requirements.
Check, verify and approve engineering drawings and documents in line with the technical plan.
To be considered for this role, you will need to be qualified to HNC/HND or Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant Electrical Engineering discipline with good relevant experience in a similar role. Ideally you will hold CEng, IET, CIBSE or equivalent membership, possibly associate or full membership of an appropriate institute.
You will have the ability to define functional requirements, produce both concept and detailed designs, identifying all safety (Nuclear and operational) requirements and producing design documents and drawings and specifications. You will be able to perform general plant performance calculations and will have a working knowledge of electrical services and equipment. You will have experience of producing and checking electrical design calculations.
Installation, test and commissioning experience would be advantageous, as would Safety Case training or experience.
Please note due to the nature of the client site, applicants for this role must already hold current SC clearance as a minimum with the ability to secure DV clearance.
