This role is within the Credit Risk team of the Consumer Lending Department, the department is responsible for all aspects of credit risk management and product development.
Responsibilities
Working with the Head of Credit Risk, drive the implementation of new products, systems and processes within the Business
Development of Credit Risk strategies for all new products
Initially responsible for one analyst with a view to growing the team over the next year
Provide guidance & support for test strategy implementation
Risk Analytics
Creation and proposal of new strategies
Track new strategy performance against control sets
Develop Credit Risk MI for new and existing products
Track and report trends in through the door population and customer risk characteristics.
Responsible for monitoring and analysing the performance of credit and collections strategies.
Identify risk segments within lines of business where current strategy appears to underperform
Identify and implement opportunities for greater efficiencies, risk controls, and profitability for the respective portfolios.
Candidate Profile
Educated to degree level (minimum 2:1) preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics or Operational Research
Experience in Credit Risk roles in the financial services industry and an advanced understanding of credit risk management.
Experience of managing or supervising other analysts
You will be competent in SAS programming and working with raw data
Experience of scorecard development would be an advantage although this is not a requirement. Knowledge of analytical methods such as descriptive statistics, logistic and linear regression, experimental design, and decision tree methods (CHAID, CART).
Experience of working with IT departments regarding systems development & implementation.
Experience of taking a piece of analysis from concept through to results/recommendation.
You will have the ability to draw relevant and insightful interpretation from analytical results
Ability to present analysis, both written and verbally, in a clear, concise and confident manner.
Ability to plan and prioritize own workload and that of colleagues with minimum guidance.
Ability to build relationships across the business.
Strong desire to develop knowledge and technical skills.
