Our client are a world leading manufacturer of marine equipment.
They currently have an exciting role for an Electronic Support Engineer to join them at their UK head office. Candidates should have prior experience of marine electronics.
This is a technical and customer focused role to provide Electronic Support for the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa. The support will cover the Electronic Control Systems that are used on our clients range of equipment. There is also a requirement to support the Global business for out of region requests as and when required. The role includes full vessel commissioning of Electronic Control systems, system fault finding on board and remote assistance, emergency vessel failure support and vessel inspections.
Responsibilities will include:
Commissioning and Sea Trials;
Carry out full commissioning activities for Electronic Control Systems This will include installation assistance and checks, acceptance trials and training of crew and support staff.
The role will require travelling on short notice for trouble shooting for control systems, fault finding and repair to vessels.
Provide technical information and advice on installation issues e.g. module positioning, cabling, power supply, set-ups etc to shipyards prior to build if required.
To possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate assertiveness to manage difficult customers.
Ensure that customer support meets agreed commitments to our external and internal customers within the required timeframes.
Help to build and develop the companies reputation as a company with excellent customer support.
Provide remote customer support via telephone, email etc, this may involve providing an immediate response to assist vessels that are not fully operational or require emergency support.
Product Development Support
Development and Improvement of Product Support Systems;
Training and Development for distributors and customers
Provide in-house technical training/support for cable manufacturing
Qualified to HND level or above in electronic engineering (Or with equivalent relevant experience)
Prior experience in the marine or naval sectors
Knowledge of marine electronics equipment
Experience of installation, fault finding and repair of marine electronic systems
Ideally prior experience working on electronic control systems for marine propulsion systems.
