BBC Tamil is a multi-platform department, providing news and information to audiences across Sri Lanka, India and beyond on radio, online, Social Media platforms and, in the future, on TV.
Working in a multimedia team of journalists and reporting to BBC Tamil Service Head, you will be responsible for ensuring distinctive coverage of Sri Lanka and India related subjects, keeping high editorial and production standards, contributing to output and to other BBC Tamil platforms when applicable. You will work as part of a team in London and liaise with producers, senior producers and editors in both London and India.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an experienced presenter with the ability to perform on air with or without a script.
You will be able to demonstrate your experience in conducting live interviews and chair discussions. With the creative flair to take responsibility for moving stories and contributing ideas for stories and programmes, you have sound editorial judgement and excellent contacts and resources for research.
All BBC Tamil service staff may be required to work with or move to other programme teams on a multi-media basis and to have the ability to work across a range of skills in a flexible manner.

Contract: 6 Months Fixed Term
Salary: The maximum salary will be from £34,000 to a maximum of £35,500pa (including all allowances).
