Primary function to assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in day to day commercial activities on the Croydon Council contract.
Responsibilities

Assistance in the control and administration of projects by primarily updating and maintaining the project spread sheet.

2. Recording and maintaining the quotations spreadsheet, assisting in the monitoring and status of quotations.

3. Assisting in the procurement of subcontractors and ensuring value for money on the contract. Duties may include assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor in putting tender packages together.

4. Researching and gathering of information in regard to the Change Control Notices.

5. Chase subcontractors, suppliers and our direct labour for paperwork to ensure Interserve can pay and bill the client respectively.

6. Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the preparation and pricing of annual schools contracts including the procurement of subcontractors.

7. Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the auditing of reactive, planned and project works including maintaining a record of audited jobs.

8. Assistance to the Senior Quantity Surveyor in project works. Dependent upon the client brief, the tasks could mean involvement in the preparation of tender documents, preparation of estimates, tender evaluation and / or the cost control of construction works including interim valuations, preparation and settlement of the Final Account.

9. Assisting in the Commercial Team with the following duties: -

  • Pricing of reactive jobs in regard to the compilation of the monthly income recovery and updating of the related Work in Progress (WIP) report.
  • Production of Purchase Orders on Maximo.
  • Approving of Purchase Orders on Maximo.
  • Receipting and approving of invoices on Maximo.
Knowledge skills & experience

Prioritisation is essential as are good organisation and communication skills.

It is essential for the job holder to know when it is appropriate to seek advice or authority.

The job holder must be able to communicate at all levels and present a professional image at all times

Education: Commercial and/or finance qualification an advantage but not essential

Experience: Minimum Intermediate Excel, Word and Outlook,

Amount: Management of Bid proposals. Labour intensive service Company, service industry or similar environment.

Competent in Microsoft

Word and Excel.

Good administration skills.

Good interpersonal skills

Strong numerate and analytical skills.

Highly organised

Ability to prioritise workload

Ability to work under pressure

Self starter

Experience in use of PowerPoint Package.
