Retail Supervisor - 162 High StreetBromley £7.64 per hour

Close date: 10th February 2013

Monday to Friday 10.30 to 19.30, 37.5 hours per week. Please note: you must be legally eligible to work more than 20 hours per week - 52 weeks of the year.

Purpose of role: To contribute to the effective performance of the store through efficient supervision of staff, promoting sales and maintaining company standards and service
Reports to: Store Manager/ Department Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Commercial Focus
- Ensure effective operation of the cash points to minimise queues and optimise customer service
- Supervise staff in designated department in conjunction with the department manager to achieve required results
- Perform supervisor functions on registers in line with policy and procedure
- Ensure staff compliance with company cash register procedure
- Ensure all stock price reductions are actioned in line with company policy
- Ensure understanding of Primark's Corporate Social Responsibility policy

Stock Management
-Be aware of stock and new lines in the department and use available information resources to ensure stock is displayed in line with sales and that best sellers are promoted
- Replenish stock to ensure sufficient levels in the department to deliver maximum sales performance

- Assist the management team to plan and carry out regular staff training sessions and new starter inductions
- Ensure company standards regarding hygiene, grooming and appearance are maintained
- Compile daily plan for lunches, breaks, registers and fitting room cover
- React to the changing requirements of the business through the day
- In conjunction with the management team and HR manager monitor staff attendance and time keeping
- Liase with management team for overtime planning and collation of staff hours for completion payroll
- Provide full induction and training for retail operatives and others as necessary

- Ensure that stock is merchandised to company guidelines to maximise sales
- Ensure that Point of Sale and all ticketing is consistent and in line with legislative requirements and company policy and procedures
- Liaise with the management team daily on layout changes or moves within your department
Operating Standards
- Ensure that standards are maintained throughout the day and that recovery is completed daily
- Ensure cash points are maintained in line with the Store Operations Manual and supplies are replenished regularly
- Ensure pricing and ticketing procedures are carried out in line with company policy
- Carry out stock take procedures in line with company policy

Customer Service
- Demonstrate good customer service at all times and ensure that staff are fully trained
- In the event of a customer complaint or query react in a professional and courteous manner, elevating the issue to management where necessary

Environment, Health & Safety
- Assist the management team in ensuring that all methods of work are carried out according to policy on EHS
- Be alert to any potential hazards within your department
- Ensure staff place equipment to ensure safety of all staff and customers
- Be fully aware of company policy regarding customer or staff theft and follow appropriate procedures
- Maintain security of cash registers
- Maintain security of register keys/ pass codes at all times
- Comply with company procedures on staff searches
To be considered for the role you will need to have relevant experience. You will require:
- Strong communication skills and use of English language
- 2 years store based retail experience
- 1 year fashion value retail experience
- 2 years experience in supervisory capacity
- Qualified to GCSE level (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English
