Excellent opportunity to join the Engineering division of this leading international energy services company as a Mechanical Engineer on a contract basis in Aberdeen. The Client An International energy services company providing a range of engineering production support maintenance management and industrial gas turbine overhaul and repair services to the oil and gas and power generation industries worldwide. The engineering division is a market leader providing services to the upstream midstream downstream and industrial sectors. Role Responsibilities - Ensure and champion technical integrity - Ensure Mechanical output compliance with the relevant company Client national & international standards & procedures by applying the companys checking & approval procedure for all created documents & calculations.

  • Technical assistance to mechanical personnel and other disciplines as required to include mentoring of mechanical personnel - Compliance with agreed budget and schedule - Prepare engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules. - Provide documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and design books on time to meet offshore deadlines - Aptitude with respect to current and new legislation and standards e.g. BS API and Client codes and standards HS&E Regulations and EU Directives - Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilised in Mechanical activities - Produce cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe - Participate as necessary in discussions with Clients and visit job sites as required - Assist the Lead Mechanical Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties Key Requirements The ideal candidate will - Be a chartered engineer - Shall have experience in some or all of the following engineering areas - Pumps - Compressors - Heat Exchangers - Pressure Vessels - HVAC - Mechanical Handling Systems - Materials - Seal Systems - Ancillary Systems Lube Oil etc Candidates must have the following - Degree or equivalent in a Mechanical engineering discipline or suitable experience backed up by an engineering qualification - Solid Oil and Gas industry experience -Depending on the position Specialist skills to include vessels static equipment or rotating equipment AND conversant in one or more of the following equipment areas Static Equipment Pumps Compressors Gas Turbines Pressure Vessel Design Materials Finglow Salary & Benefits - Highly competitive salary - Relocation package offered About Petroplan Petroplan is a global Recruitment Organisation supplying skilled technical professionals and support services to the Oil Gas and Petrochemical industries.
