Engineering Maintenance Team Manager/Leader

Role:
To lead a multi-skilled manufacturing maintenance team to ensure that the company is meeting its production, quality and output targets. Managing your own value stream and reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, you will manage a team of 1 multi-skilled maintenance engineers. You will ensure that all plant and frontline engineering equipment is maintained to the right level. You will devise a robust asset maintenance management schedule for your business unit.
You will monitor and manage all operational performance including leading and managing continuous improvement activities, raising the performance bar ! You will establish and manage weekly maintenance reviews, up-skilling people and plant! You will agree and manage maintenance budgets for your area including variance management. CMMS management and implementation are also vital parts of this role.
People management and development includes target setting, coaching and developing craft, responsible for performance and appraisals, ensuring a CI culture is embedded in the team. Typical KPI;s include Machine availability/downtime, machine efficiency and downtime.
Challenges:
These include managing your time around strategy versus fire fighting. To set up a world class maintenance service in a very high pressure, high speed manufacturing environment. In addition, you must ensure you set up and develop a strategic maintenance strategy.
Requirements
Graduate calibre or apprentice trained with the associated development and skills in maintenance engineering. Frontline engineering management in a high pressure, high speed manufacturing environment. A good understanding of technical engineering manufacturing environments as well as a good understanding of CMMS systems.
