This is a Fixed Term appointment for a period of 51 weeks.
The vacancy will be based in either North East Derbyshire & Dales Magistrates Court, Chesterfield S41 7TW or Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court, Derby DE1 3JR.
Administrative Officers are assigned to sections to carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court/tribunal system or provide support to other functions within the MoJ family. Problem solving is carried out by reference to comprehensive guidelines and instructions - complex or difficult issues are normally referred to a team leader or supervisor. In some positions, role holders will have regular contact with court / tribunal users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession.
Whilst the post holder will be allocated to a specific office base, there may be a need for flexibility to work on an ad hoc basis at other local Ministry of Justice offices.

Duties may include:
Creating and updating records on in-house computer system and data input Producing court/tribunal documents
Preparing files for court/tribunal hearings
Answering queries (telephone/written correspondence/face-to-face)
Serving customers/court users
General photocopying and filing
Dealing with numerical calculations
Post opening
General ad hoc office duties

Qualification(s)

5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) grades A*-C, to include English Language, or NVQ Business Administration level II or Administrative experience
