Our client now has an opportunity for a Mechanical Handling Project Engineer / Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer to work in the Mechanical Handling division based in Broseley, Shropshire. The role offers a salary of £29,000 - £34,000 per annum and provides an exciting opportunity for development into management.
The main purpose of this Mechanical Handling Project Engineer / Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer role is to manage all aspects of Technical Sales of a mechanical handling product as well as support the field sales team, meet and discuss customer enquiries with the internal sales team and provide training as necessary. You will be expected to generate, follow up and administer customer enquiries, as well as manage and develop customer relationships. You will also be required to project manage all customer orders and work in conjunction with the design department for the provision of customer solutions.
After 2/3 years, the Mechanical Handling Project Engineer / Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer will also be required to plan effective marketing campaigns and develop new products. You will manage the internal team of mechanical handling sales, the project engineers and be responsible for the sales target.
Success in this role requires a highly skilled sales person, educated to ONC Mechanical Engineering as a minimum, with experience of product design and project management. Knowledge of the food and pharmaceutical processing industry is an advantage. You must be commercially aware and have excellent communication and negotiation skills. The ability to read drawings, understand fabrication and sheet metal, site surveys is a distinct advantage.
