City Manager reporting to: Regional Manager
Responsible for specific locations, with full accountability for maximising profitability and ensuring the delivery of first class service to all our customers.
Effectively manage and motivate people in order to develop local commercial activities, promote the sale of ancillary products, optimise Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and optimise the assets and people allocation
Fleet o Overview of cluster fleet plan and take action accordingly
o Source (non local) fleet as required
o Review of cluster non revs and action accordingly
o Communication with Distribution in Uxbridge
o Planning and ordering of fuel
Review and plan staffing levels for cluster with RMs and HRBPs 2. Maximise Customer Service
Set and agree NPS targets for each branch within cluster
Review NPS scores for cluster
Deal with more serious complaints made through NPS comments
Drive the strategy to deliver on targets set by Europe
Set monthly targets within cluster in alignment with European targets
Overview of cluster revenue activity
Conduct revenue training/workshops throughout cluster working closely with Revenue Manager
Identify and generate local business opportunities
Awareness of competitor activity and take action accordingly
Manage relationships with local corporate clients
identify and secure local business opportunities in conjunction with telebusiness
3. Health & Safety
Overview of H&S for cluster
Monitoring that staff are completing the necessary checks at branch level
Work closely with outsource property management to ensure maintenance on properties within cluster
Carry out quarterly risk assessments with support from Branch Supervisors/Duty Managers
Responsible for security of sites within cluster
Ad hoc spot checks 4. Financial/Quality Audits
Accountability for all cluster audit
Review findings of audits and take action accordingly
Annual security review
Carry out monthly financial audits 5. People
Daily management of Branch Supervisors/Duty Managers
Manage people allocation for holidays/absence within cluster
Appraisals of Duty Managers/Supervisors
Review and approve Kronos
Involvement in serious disciplinary issues
Recruitment of Supervisors/Duty Managers
Responsibility to complete all EIF's within cluster
Exit Interviews as appropriate
Communication with HR
Coach and mentoring of Supervisors/DM's in the management of their staff
Overview of performance and training needs within cluster
Organise corporate induction for all new starters
6. Cost Controls

Optimise and plan assets and people allocation
Achieve corporate objectives with particular focus on fleet utilisation, cost controls, productivity and team development.
Drive and maximise customer service opportunities.
Engage, support, empower and monitor people to ensure that the highest levels of customer service and image are established and maintained throughout.
Work closely with other key departments within the organisation to develop the branches.
Monitor competitors, specifically in areas of rates, fleet, staffing and new branch openings.
Ensure that rental, security, control of Company assets and Health and Safety procedures are met and adhered to.
Ensure that the locations Financial/Quality audit requirements are achieved.
