Our Security and Risk Management team is responsible for managing the network security environment for AEGON EDC. It plays a key role in providing security consultancy and advice on IT security-related issues for both ‘business as usual’ and project work, including the establishment of our new European Data Centre.
Responsbilities
As one of our Lead Technical Analysts, you’ll:
investigate business functions, processes, information flows and data structures
investigate operational requirements and problems, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in information systems, data management and processes/procedures
receive and log requests for support from the Helpdesk, prioritising requests and determining appropriate actions, for example system modifications, developing workarounds, site-specific enhancements, manipulating data, changing operating procedure and so on
help identify underlying problems
develop system specifications identifying scope, constraints, hardware, network and software environments, main system functions and information flows, data load and implementation strategy and so on
produce logical system designs showing processes, objects, data flows, inputs, stored data and outputs and translating these into physical designs
create and amend software/programs in line with the design
interpret and execute sets of test scripts using agreed methods and standards
document test failures and successes, produce reusable test scripts and procedures
use normal operating facilities, diagnostic tools, technical manuals, test scripts and systems documentation to identify, diagnose and report on basic system errors
document all work in line with required standards, methods and procedures
Requirements
Essential
To be one of our Lead Technical Analysts, you must:
have experience of working in an IT department in a supporting role
be able to manage a varied workflow and prioritise your workload
have excellent written and communication skills
be able to liaise with people of all levels and technical abilities
have proven troubleshooting and analytical skills
have up-to-date knowledge of technology developments, particularly relating to security of infrastructure.
have experience of leading/managing a team of technical analysts
have experience in telecommunications systems technology, specialising in LANs or WANs
ideally have practical experience of data centre migrations
have in-depth knowledge in the following technical areas on large scale corporate networks:
Checkpoint/Nokia
Bluecoat
Websense
ISS – or similar IDS/IPS experience
CDLP
F5 Load balancing and global traffic manager
Ethernet concepts
IP address schemes and subnetting (IPv4)
IPv6 knowledge a plus
Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP)
Network Address Translation (NAT)
Network Time Protocol (NTP)
Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP)
Domain Name System (DNS)
Network management (Logging, SNMP, Syslog)
IP security/firewall technologies (Cisco ASA series, Checkpoint)
