Tolerance International, a UK based but globally active NGO, is looking to recruit a Public Fundraising Intern to work in our London office for a continuous period of 6 months on a full-time basis. Tolerance International aims to promote tolerance and moderation between people, society and the environment for the equal benefit of all and for future generations. We do this in order to decrease growing extremism, cultural and religious divides and unfettered exploitation of natural resources. We implement projects with some of the poorest communities in South America and Africa, as well as with vulnerable groups and communities in the UK.

This internship is ideal for a recent graduate looking to develop useful marketing and fundraising work experience in the third sector and a small NGO environment. The ideal candidate should possess sufficient knowledge and skills to enable them operate independently with very limited technical support and supervision. Responsibilities: - Helping plan, implement and manage events - Researching and building strong media relations in the UK - Helping develop, implement and monitor fundraising campaigns and appeals - Helping develop and implement a marketing strategy - Research and profile appropriate donor bases - Building and maintaining marketing and donor databases - Helping produce newsletters, e-bulletins and annual reports - Contributing to the ongoing development of our website - General administrative tasks Experience: - Good technical skills and knowledge of mass marketing - Previous marketing PR Fundraising Events management experience is desirable. - Good organisation skills - Good working knowledge of MS Office packages.

  • Flexible attitude to role specification. - Ability to work on your own initiative and be good at problem solving as well as be able to work as a team. The internship is unpaid and we are unfortunately unable to pay for any expenses for lunch or travel due to the economic recession. Starting date: Monday 14th February 2011
