The Strategic Sourcing organization is responsible for managing the end to end sourcing process for Barcap &, BarWealth (IT and non-IT spend) and Barclays, PLC (IT spend only) to optimize supplier spend, balancing costs against service levels and risks
Main Function The Sourcing Manager role is a key position within the BarCap Professional Services Sourcing team primarily covering Resourcing globally and supporting additional Professional Services categories including Management Consultancy, Legal Services etc etc . The sub categories included in Resourcing which looks after all spend in association to resourcing including contingent worker agencies, managed service providers, permanent recruitment agencies and all the categories that support resourcing talent for the Bank.
The key activities that you would be expected to be involved in and manage include:
Defining and executing category sourcing strategies
Managing selection and commercial negotiations with relevant Resourcing & Professional Services suppliers and liaise with legal to ensure favourable commercial terms which mitigate business risk.
Negotiate significant contracts and as part of a team undertaking variable sized, though often very strategic, contracts
Support the Category Manager with the day to day management of key stakeholders globally within the Resourcing category and regionally for Professional Services
Main Duties Work with the Professional Services Category Manager and key Business Users to optimise supplier costs whilst enabling the business to maintain appropriate service levels and minimise risk. Specifically execute plans to:
Support client managers in all their commercial requirements from identification of business need to contract signature
Lead commercial negotiations with relevant Resourcing & Professional Services suppliers to ensure Barclays receive best value for money and associated cost savings
Develop, issue and manage RFIs and RFPs as appropriate
Liaise with legal for the negotiations of large agreements
Proactively seek savings opportunities across Resourcing & Professional Services spend, negotiate and report in the appropriate format
Support the Professional Services Category manager and Regional Cluster teams in the active management of strategic suppliers, including ongoing vendor rating and periodic commercial review meetings.
Input own agreements, service details and payment forecasts onto a Contracts Database and maintain all other systems as appropriate
There is a genuine global dimension to the remit as well as substantial autonomy and responsibility. The jobholder will be interacting at senior level both internally and externally and must possess relevant interpersonal skills. Resourcing & Professional Services Sourcing within Barclays supports very fast paced and highly motivated client teams. For this reason the customer base is very demanding so the role must be held by someone who is able to deal with pressure and works at a pace
