HR Manager, HR Operations Team - Our Business:

We have a number of Area Service Centres (Uddingston, Stockport, Leicester & Oldbury) supporting our field based teams of Engineers.

The Service & Repair Operational Support Team is a central team of HR Managers who support Line Managers in an advisory and coaching capacity. The aim is to help managers become effective people managers, build their confidence and provide access to expert advice. They build line manager capability to be self sufficient. The team provide advice in relation to policy interpretation and case management. This includes attendance management, performance management, discipline and grievance. They will also advise on good people management.

HR Manager, HR Operations Team - The Vacancy:
The team is based at Stockport and provides advice and support remotely via phone & email to managers across the UK and will conduct root cause analysis into the cases and queries raised. The team will interact with Legal, Policy and People Services Teams to improve the quality of policies and Line Manager support materials.

Reporting to the S&R HR Operations Team Manager the HR managers will support Line Mangers remotely. Key Challenges include;

Advise and coach managers on HR Policy & Procedures, providing advice on investigations, disciplinary, grievance, attendance management and other areas as required.

Ensuring managers use self service, Shared Services or their line manager as appropriate. Problem solving when required to resolve outstanding issues or matters that fall outside policy or procedure.

Provide cover for the HR Operations Team helpline

Improve case management capability. Assist in the management and resolution of complex cases. Liaise with local HR, legal, OH as required

Focus on Attendance Management by supporting the local management teams with Absence Review Meetings. Liaise with Legal, Occupational Health, Policy Teams to improve policy and procedures.

Produce MI on queries and cases
