The Trainee Project Engineer will work with both the Lead Engineers and the Project Engineers within the engineering department.
The trainee will help to ensure that the Engineering department fulfils its goals in achieving key project milestones and will work under the guidance of the Lead Engineers who will task their workload.
Provide support to the Lead Engineers during the project life cycle.
Ensure that project deadlines are achieved for all aspects of the contract which they have been tasked with (delivery of the equipment and documentation).
Assist with the in-house testing of projects that they have been involved with, thus picking up valuable experience along the way.
Maintenance of the bill of materials and product structure during the project life cycle, thus ensuring that the company MRP system is correct at the close out of the project.
Ensure that all project documentation has been produced in accordance with the agreed project SDRL.
Assist the QHSE department with carrying out inspection of projects.
May, on occasions, be requested to accompany the Project Engineer worldwide to attend Customer meetings/presentations, therefore the incumbent must hold a valid driving licence and passport.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Good academic background.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to interface with internal/external Customers.
Ability to respond to demands of a high and varied workload.
Ideally should possess, or be studying towards, a Mechanical or Electrical engineering qualification.
Knowledge of MRP system.
