The Sales and Marketing Director is a highly visible and exciting opportunity open in Basingstoke.
You will be responsible for directing and managing sales and marketing functions for designated products in International Specialty Pharma UK.
Within this role, the individual is expected to oversee the development and execution of the market plan and its tactical implementation, leveraging relevant elements of the marketing mix, including salesforce deployment and management.
Execution of plans must be in line with corporate Business Unit strategy and must adhere to ABPI approval processes and standards.
The Sales and Marketing Director will be accountable for the delivery of plans to meet company objectives, including sales targets.
The Director will manage team of UK Marketers and Sales Managers.
Additional responsibilities include the management of other support functions within ISP (e.g. Conferences and Meetings and Business Information).
Job Duty and Description
Deliver BU objectives
Accountable for deployment, development and management of BU staff to deliver BU objectives.
Accountable for alignment and execution of ISP UK product strategies with corporate BU strategies and programmes.
Accountable for utilisation and leverage of the CRM system (Nucleus) within sales and marketing depts.
Manage expenditure budgets.
Manage, motivate and provide incentives for BU staff, developing individuals and ensuring training interventions are delivered to meet company requirements.
Ensure deployment of personal development plans for staff, utilising Shire programme, leadership and training initiatives.
Accountable for creation of UK marketing plan (7 years) and 12 month tactical plan, and execution thereof.
Develop monitoring systems, including KPIs to ensure performance against plan.
Ensure alignment of UK plans to corporate BU plan.
Accountable for develop and delivery of product forecasts when required, utilizing BU modeling tools and local tools as required.
Input into Strategic Product Plans (SPPs) as required by BU or ISP.
Assess marketing implications of any acquisitions to SPL business.
Manage Business Information dept
Ensure UK marketing and sales departments are supported by the provision of business information (including qualitative and quantitative).
Ensure alignment with International Commercial Operations (ICO) with respect to provision of services and supporting information (e.g. KPI monitoring, NUCLEUS rollout, support and utilisation).
Oversee the organization of three national business meetings / conferences, attendance at National Customer meetings and organisation of advisory panels and ad hoc meetings as required. Minimum Requirements Significant experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing, at managerial level, including experience at senior sales and/or marketing managerial level.
Experience launching pharma products in the UK, in either a marketing or sales management capacity.
Knowledge of the UK healthcare marketplace.
Degree or equivalent in related discipline, with excellent numerical skills.
Good communicator, negotiator and able to influence.
A track record of people management and development experience must be demonstrated.
Thorough working knowledge of the ABPI code of practice and experience of approval processes for promotional material.
