To work with the business to identify business requirements
To obtain business prioritisation for the requirements
To produce requirements specifications and to obtain business sign off for them
To provide input to the IT development process (in house or 3rd party) over the systems design and development project phases
To conduct the UAT process in partnership with the business
Responsibilities:
To identify, document and obtain sign off for prioritised business requirements
To understand the company's systems/applications, infrastructure, and strategic plans
To ensure contemplated systems solutions are technically feasible and compatible with systems strategic plans
To provide input to the systems design and development project phases and to liaise with the business on arising requirements clarification as necessary
To support the business in the preparation of UAT plans and in conducting the UAT process
To provide input to project management in respect of task timescales, change management, and risk and issue management
To work with all levels of business user/ representative - i.e. warehouse operative through managing director
To communicate and work effectively with in house and 3rd party developers
To represent systems function across a wide range of forums - internal meetings, workshops and presentations; externally with 3rd party providers
Technical Requirements of the Role
To be experienced across a wide range of system technologies and architectures (e.g. thin-thick client based technologies, PC environments, transaction processing systems, batch systems)
To have a broad base of technical knowledge so as to be able quickly understand new technical or development scenarios and to be a able to communicate effectively with technical teams
To be experienced in formal systems analysis and design methodologies and the systems development lifecycle
To be experienced in the usages and application of desktop tools, including diagramming and presentation tools
Person Profile: Experience:
Experienced over the end to end systems project life cycle
Considerable experienced in requirements gathering across a wide range of user type and seniority levels
Ability to write clear documentation and specifications
Experienced in identifying risks and issues and inputting them into risk and issue management processes
Experienced in estimating project timescales and costs and inputting this information into project management processes
Experienced in progress reporting
Experience in fault reporting and management processes
Experienced in working with internal and external developers
Strong problem solving skills
Experienced in supporting and managing the UAT process
A background in delivering projects covering Supply Chain, Warehouse & Distribution, Warehouse Management Systems, etc. Examples: Sterling Commerce, Red Prairie, etc
Experience of the Gartner Magic Quadrant (MQ) would be desirable
Key Skills:
Demonstrative experience in a structured systems analysis and design methodology (e.g. SSADM, Yourdon)
Demonstrative experience of work within the context of a recognised project management methodology (e.g. Prince2)
Demonstrative experience in BA methods/techniques, e.g. interviewing; workshops; use cases; walkthroughs
Demonstrative programming experience (desirable)
