CY Partners is recruiting for an Organic Chemist to work in a speciality chemical company.

The technology is based on functionalised organic inorganic materials and has the potential to deliver economic and environmental benefits while providing solutions to a wide variety of industrial problems.
This role will be based with the companies state of the art laboratory facilities in Oxford.

CY Partners are interested in hearing from PhD Chemists to work on the development of its functionalised materials. The role involves synthesis of new functionalised materials, process development, technology transfer to a manufacturer and manufacturing and product support. These activities will involve using a wide range of analytical equipment including ICP, HPLC, GC and NMR spectroscopy. The chemist will be working on a wide range of projects and be expected to deliver against tight deadlines.

In terms of competences, it is expected that the successful candidate will be technically adept, knowledgeable and capable of approaching a problem from different angles. With good interpersonal and communication skills across a range of media, the candidate will be expected to be flexible with the ability to work under minimal supervision, with care, dedication and accuracy in the laboratory across a range of project/reaction types and material scales. Able to assimilate new information quickly, an efficient and effective work-rate will be expected.
