The Project Engineering Manager (PEM), leads and coordinates the technical management of a project.
Ensures that the design and engineered solutions produced meets the required specification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide the overall technical management of the project and the provision of SQEP resources to meet the cost, programme and quality requirements of the defined tasks and deliverables.
To ensure that the technical requirements of the project are achieved and the appropriate quality systems are followed.
To be responsible for the delivery of technical solutions that are value engineered, constructible and meet all appropriate regulatory requirements.
To support the Project Manager achieve project delivery and interface with the client’s PEM.
To support all business processes, engineering systems, configuration management, nuclear and conventional safety, quality and output.
To ensure compliance to AMEC internal procedures, Sellafield Ltd’s Technical Standards, AXIOM’S procedures and British/European/International standards as appropriate
ACCOUNTABILITY
To the Project Manager for the delivery of engineering design services to nuclear and conventional safety, quality, cost and time parameters.
To the Project Manager for identifying all changes from the agreed quality, cost and time parameters; and identifying risks to the above including all necessary mitigation.
To the Project Manager for all concessions and all deviations from the Design Intent.
AUTHORITY
Authority to direct Responsible Engineers, Principal Engineers, Senior Engineers and base level Engineers under their direct control and approve the designs, engineering solutions and all deliverables produced.
To engage with Heads of Discipline, subject matter experts and professional bodies as appropriate.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Candidate would be good leader who is proactive, thinks holistically and is willing to challenge the norm in a challenging delivery environment.
Ideally come from a design background and have held similar positions in the past, Design Manager, Engineering Manager, Package Manager
Ideally qualified to degree level in CE+I or civil engineering although this is by no means essential if candidate can demonstrate the right skills and experience
Nuclear experience is desirable though not essential
