The Job
You will undertake efficient software development through the use of good design and implementation methodologies, undertake module testing, attend workshops / design reviews with the customer to discuss the development project and demonstrate progress to date, prepare comprehensive technical and user documentation to support the completed application, provide out of hours support for software releases and patches, when required. You need experience of definition and generation of server side data structures, extensive knowledge of the Oracle Web based application development toolset (Forms 10g, Reports 10g), experience of the development of complex server side PL/SQL code for data input validation and data import/export and a disciplined and methodical approach to configuration control of changes to live applications. It would be helpful if you have experience of the configuration and administration of PVCS, experience of working in a Ministry of Defence software project environment, Unix system management and Oracle DBA and Application Server experience, Microsoft Access development knowledge, experience of the development of Oracle Web based applications in APEX, .NET and/or Java or experience of development and deployment using Oracle Fusion Middleware (11g). Please note this position requires security clearance to SC level which we can arrange for you.
