When it comes to inspiring and engaging a new generation, we want inspiring Teachers providing learning experiences of outstanding quality. We offer students distinctive and valuable opportunities to develop personally, professionally and academically. We support each member of our staff and every individual student to reach their full potential. As a progressive Department we are always actively seeking opportunities for growth.
You could be planning and delivering training that will be the launching pad for our engineers of the future. You may already be a Teacher but what we're more interested in is an in-depth understanding of key areas of Engineering.
We are looking for three main disciplines initially, either:
• Applied Engineering Mathematics and Mechanical Science,
• Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Welding with the ability to teach some Manufacturing and Fabrication
• a combination of all of them while some CAD/CNC would be an advantage.
We are seeking to appoint three enthusiastic, innovative individuals to join our team, teaching Engineering at Sunderland College. The successful candidate will be a well-motivated individual, with a minimum level 4 (HNC) qualification in an engineering discipline, able to teach across a range of programmes at levels 1 to 5, initially at our Engineering Zone at the Shiney Row Centre before moving to a purpose built Engineering Centre in the City of Sunderland at the earliest opportunity.
Preferably you will already have a Teaching Qualification and/or Assessor or Verifier awards. If not, and you have the potential to teach, you will be committed to achieving a teaching qualification within two years of joining us. New Engineering Graduates and Newly Qualified Teachers with the right background are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check.
