Important Other Information

From the 1st October 2013 a National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices has been introduced for young people aged 16-18 and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. The new rate is per hour. The new NMW applies to time working plus time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by the age category above will be entitled to the NMW appropriate to their age.

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by Government. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.

Acceptance onto the Apprenticeship is subject to successful completion of the Basic Skills Assessment in both Literacy and Numeracy and candidates will only be enrolled on programme once they have completed a successful induction period with their employer.

Candidates who already hold a Degree or equivalent qualification at Level 4 and above are still able to carry out an Apprenticeship, however they will not be eligible for funding – this means the employer will need to pay for any training costs.

We welcome applications from candidates living in Brighton.

Bonus paid at 6 months and upon completion of course.

Hours will be according to a rota pattern that will include evenings and weekends.
