About the Role:

The Business Development Manager will report into the Business Development Director (Security & Resilience) - Secure Solutions. The opening has come about due to new initiatives within Arqiva and an increased focus on Secure Solutions. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and winning strategic business development opportunities that result in growth in the Secure Solutions business, requiring excellent inter-personal, analytical, strategic and bidding skills and relevant supporting knowledge and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Main deliverables will support significant increases in the long term pipeline for Secure Solutions each year resulting in revenues that exceed the Long Term Plan for the Telecoms business unit:

1.Supporting the BD Director (Security & Resilience) in the development and implementation of a strategy for national public safety infrastructure projects as required (e.g. ESMCP - Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme).
2.The development and implementation of strategies for suitable Government Procurement Service frameworks (e.g. PSN and GCLOUD for example).
3.The development and implementation of a strategy for cooperation with the successful Evidence Based Decision Support alliance (similar to NiteWorks).
4.The development and implementation as appropriate of other strategic initiates within Secure Solutions to build the pipeline of opportunities each year.
5.You will be required to represent Arqiva, the Telecoms division and the Secure Solutions business unit both internally and externally and will be required to build high quality long term relationships.

Experience Required:
Professional sales and business development skills
•Customer requirements capture & Customer Proposition Development
•Relationship Development
•Bid Preparation & Management
•Good written and verbal communication skills with good problem solving skills.
•General knowledge of telecoms industry, technologies and key players, understanding of Communications requirements specifically in Public Safety and Government with the ability to identify, qualify and assess commercial opportunities
•Ability to plan & forecast, with an understanding of financial modelling and business planning
•A pro-active, pro business development approach
•Proven record of achievement in Sales / Account Management
•Ability to present, negotiate, influence and communicate both internally and externally
•A relevant level of technical knowledge sufficient to allow the understanding of systems solutions including limitations of propagation etc and the benefits/challenges of different frequency spectrum options (VHF/UHF/Cellular/Microwave etc)
•Experience of working with Government customers
•Experience of working in a Public Safety environment
•Knowledge of Public Safety Communications Solutions (e.g. Airwave)
•Knowledge of Government Procurement Service procurement process, and current and planned Government frameworks (G-Cloud & PSN for example).
•As a result of the nature of the work that we do you will be required to obtain an appropriate government security clearance as part of the recruitment process if you do not already hold it.
•A good working knowledge of major software packages to be utilised in your day to day work to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint will be required as a minimum. Knowledge of would be useful.
