To lead Technical Engineering Services in its role to provide technical publications, documentation, standardised processes, continuous improvement initiatives, fault-finding guides as well as to set policy on engineering change programmes and testability of on-board Systems and their major components.
Drive agreement and clarity of boundaries for TES with other Divisions, particularly, PGR, and Bogies.
Lead strategy for consistent Review and Production of Maintenance Schedules across all Fleets irrespective of support contract.
Identify possibilities to reduce maintenance hours and costs across all Serv UK operating Fleets and Repair and Overhaul Centres.
Develop risk assessments to justify changes to maintenance regimes that balance maintenance activity with operational availability and continuous improvement of the maintenance optimisation process.
Drive the TOCs and ROSCOs towards a standardised framework for maintenance schedules and instructions.
Review R,M & T and LCC information delivered by suppliers.
Develop and update MCM models as required using business approved tools.
Assume responsibility for interface with Asset Information Managements Systems and flow down of configuration management process requirements and monitoring compliance.
To lead a strategy of globalising Best Practices for Technical Engineering Solutions and develop centres of knowledge, expertise and capability that share resources across the regions for best use of specialist engineering advice and capability.
To consider off-shoring, outsourcing, Joint Ventures and Mergers & Acquisitions to provide the most effective and efficient way of providing TES capability across Serv UK span of control.
Standardise Core Engineering Systems, Tools and Processes such as FRACAS, Maintenance publications, Engineering Change programmes and Fault-Finding Guides across all Serv UK Fleets and Repair & Overhaul Centres
Manage the review, prioritisation, amendment and publication of Vehicle Maintenance Instructions, including best available diagnostic techniques and consideration of levels of testability/repair (depot or other Specialist Division, eg. PPC)
Responsible for correct configuration control across Technical Engineering Services functions and controlling the 'As Maintained' configuration baseline from Product handover to Serv UK until Product
Provide specialist knowledge and technical support for Technical Engineering Services
