This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of Igloo Automotive who are operating as an Employment Business. Our client, a major automotive distribution company are currently looking for an experienced transport manager from an automotive background.
The ideal candidate will have excellent UK geography knowledge with all major traffic routes, have the ability to read and understand a profit and loss report, have good man management skills, have a knowledge of maritime routes, have expert knowledge of transport work allocation systems and ideally hold a current CPC (although this is not essential). You will be dealing with external and internal customers as well as sub contract transport companies and employment agencies for staffing requirements.
The succesfull candidate will also be overseeing the operational planning of all activities relating to traffic flows, monitoring and developing the existing team, working closely with the fleet manager to ensure that an effective organisation is created, ensuring the adherance to all group operating procedures and the maximisation of vehicle loads throughout the delivery areas.
