The University of Sussex (US) is looking for 3 Temporary Housing Assistants to work in the busy University Housing Office on campus from May 2014. Two posts will run until 31st October 2014, and one post will run until 3rd October 2014.
The posts are based within the small, friendly, busy, and efficient University Housing Office and supports the administration of new housing applications and allocations, together with supporting relationships with internal and external partners to deliver a high quality and coordinated housing service. The post-holders will make use of the University’s residential database system, StarRez, to help with the efficient allocation of accommodation and charging for 5,030 bed-spaces, together with helping to process summer bookings and responding to routine enquiries via telephone email, social media, and in-person via our dedicated reception.
Students from over 150 countries live with US annually. Good customer service skills are vital and you will need to have a good standard of education, together with excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills. Duties will include interacting with applicants, students, residents, parents / guardians, Agents via email, website, social media, telephone and counter queries to process housing enquiries, applications and allocations efficiently and effectively to a high degree of accuracy.
The post-holders will need to maintain high levels of accuracy, attention to detail and be approachable. Experience of using Social Media (e.g. Facebook), Microsoft Office, and databases is also essential, as is a good telephone and email manner.
The Housing Office is extremely busy, so the post-holders will need to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, remain calm, be reliable and demonstrate excellent time management skills. You will be supported by a dedicated and friendly team committed to improving the experience of living with US.
